Kenneth Ricketson Allen was born on July 30th, 1929 and passed away on January 21st, 2018. Kenneth was born in New Bedford, Massachusetts and grew up in South Portland, Maine, where he played football and excelled in track and field. He was a member of Beta Theta Pi fraternity and sang with a group within them, graduating from Brown University with a BA in Business. He entered the Naval Aviation Training Program as a Cadet, earning his wings and a Commission in the United States Marine Corps in 1952. He served our country on both active and reserve duty, flying a variety of aircraft. He retired as a Lieutenant Colonel flying the C-119 out of the reserve unit at Minneapolis Saint Paul International Airport and Glenview, Illinois. After a brief stint and getting furloughed at Northwest Airlines, he decided he could better serve his family as a stockbroker at Paine Weber Jackson and Curtis, from which he retired in 1994. An avid golfer, fisherman and photographer, he instilled a love of the outdoors and aviation in his children, eventually choosing to pursue wildlife with a camera rather than with firearms later in life. He was known as a man of unquestionable integrity, and his gentle manner and quick wit earned him many friends in both aviation circles and the business world. He was a mentor, role model, and compassionate father with a personality as big as the great outdoors. He is survived by his loving wife Jane; four children; six grandchildren; two great grandchildren; one stepson; and one step grandson.
