It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Kippen Olmstead, a husband and father, Gators' fan, beach enthusiast, and keen adventurer. His departure leaves a void in the hearts of all who knew him.
Kip was a longstanding member of the Pensacola and Pensacola Beach community. He attended Escambia High School and the Univeristy of Florida and eventually went on to graduate from the University of West Florida. Kip and his wife Mary were staunch Florida Gator supporters and would dress up in full team attire when sitting down for a game.
Kip loved travel and embraced every culture and new experience with open arms. From the bustling streets of Paris to the serene landscapes of Hawaii, his insatiable curiosity fuelled his desire to immerse himself in different traditions and broaden his horizons. A twenty six year career with Westinghouse allowed him even more freedom to tour the continents, and in addition to his travels, he received numerous awards for the prestigious work he did over the years.
An eternal lover of the beach, Kip found solace in the rhythmic sound of the waves and the gentle touch of the sand beneath his feet. Whether it was basking in the sun's glow or swimming with the children, the beach was his sanctuary, and he was able to spend his final days in its warm embrace.
Kip Olmstead's departure leaves a void in the lives of his family and friends. His passion and adventurous spirit will forever be etched in our hearts. As we mourn the loss of a remarkable man, let us also celebrate the profound impact he had on our lives and the countless memories we shared. May his soul find eternal peace, and may his legacy inspire us to live life to the fullest, just as he did.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to be made to the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 17, 2024 at 1 PM at Park West on Pensacola Beach. All who were touched by Kip's life are invited to attend and share their memories.
Forever in our hearts, Kip Olmstead will be deeply missed, but his spirit will continue to guide us as we navigate life's unpredictable tides.
