Laurie was born July 07, 1961, in Rochester, New York to Joseph Germonto and Kathleen Prattis Germonto. She graduated from Honeoye Central High School. Laurie was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, where she served for four years. Laurie then worked in civil service, retiring after 40 years. She was a multi-talented athlete; an amazing gymnast, superstar soccer player, great softball player, outstanding volleyball player, and competed in numerous competitive bodybuilding shows, in which she won and placed in many. Laurie was a sports enthusiast and avid gardener, who loved every plant and flower she came across. She loved remodeling and doing construction work around the house. She was a fan of crime, and detective shows. Laurie was a collector of coins, glassware, and anything owl related.
She was predeceased by her parents Joseph and Kathleen Germonto and sister, Tammy Feenin.
Laurie is survived by her son: Michael (Vang) Westjohn of Gulf Breeze FL; grandson, Mikey Westjohn of Gulf Breeze FL; sisters, Bonnie (Paul) Toarmino of Avon NY, Lisajo (Tom) Keeler of Lima NY, Barrita (Jeff) Shanks of Lima NY; brothers, Joseph (Lisa) Germonto of Honeoye Falls NY and Marcus (Cosette) Germonto of Brighton NY; along with many loving nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews.
She had the biggest heart in the world and loved to help any and all, especially the ones in need. She was the biggest giver, who had a hard time receiving. Her family was everything to her, and she loved them like no other. She will be missed immensely. Laurie’s legacy of love will continue to carry on through her loved ones.
A visitation will be held at Bayview Fisher-Pou Chapel, located at 3351 Scenic Highway, on Monday, February 2, 2026, from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm. The funeral service will follow at the same location on Monday, February 2, 2026, starting at 2:00 pm.
Interment will follow at Bayview Memorial Park.
