

She was born on December 4, 1935 in Huntington, West Virginia to the late Rev. Homer Bowen and Florence Delma Gilbert Bowen. She served as an evangelist and in missionary. Also, Lois was a local author of a published book “Born to Serve”.
Lois served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict. Her military service was three years and five days.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by; three sisters; four brothers; and one grandson, Brandon Robert Hess.
She is survived by; daughters, Debra Harris (Gary) Nolan of San Diego, CA, Belinda Woods of West Plains, MO, and Sheryl Harris (Craig) Smith of Pace, FL; grandsons, Steven Shane (Tabatha) Thomas of Pace, FL; and Kory Alan Hess of San Diego, CA; great grandson, Zachery Alan Thomas; great granddaughter, Makenzie Thomas; brothers; Lenval Bowen, Bill Bowen, of Huntington, WV, and Loren Bowen of Hampton, VA; and sister, Delma Handloser of Ashland, KY.
Visitation will take place at Woodbine United Methodist Church in Pace, FL on Wednesday, March 2, 2016 from 11:00am to Noon. Funeral service will begin at Noon. Interment will follow at Barrancas National Cemetery with military honors at 2:00pm.
