She was born to the late “Buck” and Nicola Acy, November 13, 1937, in Black Hawk, Mississippi.
She married the late John Marshall Aldridge Sr in 1954 and they relocated to Pensacola where they lived together for 56 years. Lyn was predeceased by her loving husband in 2010 and a daughter in 1956.
Lyn is survived by three children and their spouses: Ralph Edward Aldridge and Hae Suk, of Meridian Mississippi; John Marshall Aldridge Jr and Shelia, of Wilmington North Carolina; and Janice Marie Zuidewind and Kevin of Pensacola. She is also survived by seven grandchildren; Somer, Tiffany, John Charles, Ralph “Eddie”, Cristal, Britton, and Diane. Nanny as she was later called, was also blessed with 14 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandson. She was immensely proud of her family.
Before her disabilities restricted her, she loved riding a motorcycle with her husband, sewing, crafting, fishing, and cooking. Her cooking is most remembered by her family, especially during Thanksgiving and Christmas. For the last four years, she has lived with her daughter and favorite son-in-law and during this time, her recipes have been passed down; to her daughter and granddaughters. She absolutely loved living with Janice and Kevin.
As a Christian, her faith in our Lord Jesus never wandered when she couldn’t make it to church, she listened to gospel singing, recordings of services, and the Bible on an audio book. She loved dinner prayers and instilled in her children the importance of being thankful, and her strong values have served them well.
She will be dearly missed and forever in our hearts.
