Mary “Janice” Blackwell, age 80, of Fort Walton Beach, Fla. passed away peacefully on Easter Sunday, April 17, 2022. She was born in Smithville, Ga. in 1941 to Jack and Sara Elizabeth Weaver. She was a devoted wife of more than 43 years to her husband, retired civil servant Eddie J. Blackwell. Janice was a proud mother to son Kevin and daughter-in-law Nicole and an even prouder grandmother to her grandchildren, Isabel and Jesse.
Janice enjoyed visiting with neighbors, friends and family. She was well traveled throughout the US and Europe. She loved music and had a blast attending concerts. Janice and Eddie loved their sporting events – especially the Florida Gators. They tried to go to as many games as possible! Janice never met a stranger. She was always kind and had a sweet, child-like joy for life.
Janice is preceded in death by brother-in-law Eddie Larsen, nephew Jimmy Huffines, sister Anita Larsen, mother Sarah Elizabeth Weaver, brother Thomas Weaver and father Jack Weaver.
She is survived by husband Eddie J. Blackwell, son Kevin Norris, daughter-in-law Nicole Pallas Norris, sister Betty Jane Huffines and grandchildren Isabel Norris and Jesse Norris.
Visitation for Janice will be held on Saturday, April 23, 2022 from 12:30 PM to 1:00 PM at Bayview Fisher-Pou Chapel, 3351 Scenic Highway 90e, Pensacola, FL 32503. Janice will be laid to rest in Bayview Memorial Park, Pensacola, FL. The funeral will follow the visitation at 1:00 PM.
