Maureen Anne Holmes

She was born on November 17, 1941 in Manchester, New Hampshire to the late Edward Paul Molan and Victoria Josephine Pecor Molan. She graduated from St. Joseph High School, Manchester, NH and George Stone Technical Center with a clerical certificate. She married Charles Holmes in Manchester, NH on July 10, 1965. Maureen was a passionate Navy wife and mother. She also was employed with Sansing Sales as a secretary, and worked at Pleasant Grove Elementary and Lipscomb Elementary School as a library clerk, where she was able to combine her love of children and books.

After retiring she spent many hours volunteering at Cordova Park Elementary. Maureen was involved with the Sub Vets, and FRA Women’s Auxiliary.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Victoria and sister, Patricia.

She is survived by her husband, Charles Holmes; daughters and sons-in-law, Vicki and Dave Crawford (Pensacola), Erica and Joe Meyer (Navarre);grandchildren - Chelsea (Aaron) Cooper (Sebring), Shelby Crawford (Pensacola), Sarah Crawford (Tallahassee), Jacob, Ava, and Nick Meyer (Navarre); great-grandson, Liam Cooper (Sebring); sister, Barbara Stone; brothers, Richard (Pat) Molan, Tim (Sandi) Molan; and several nieces and nephews and many very special friends.

A graveside service will take place on Tuesday, April 18th at 2:00pm at Barrancas National Cemetery. Oak Lawn Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements.
