Mike was born on September 6, 1941, in Chilton County, Alabama to Hubert and Mary Lou Kelly. He moved to Pensacola from Enterprise, AL in 1952 with his parents and brother. At age 19 he began his lifelong career at the Monsanto plant in Gonzalez, where he became a lab technician with the 707 Chem Lab until he retired at the age of 57.
Mike had many hobbies. Cobia fishing with his son Patrick and his brother Jerry, were among one of his favorite things to do. The wonderful friends he had were also a big part of his love of fishing and have become some of his dearest and most loved friends. In addition to fishing, he was an avid golfer, and LOVED his Auburn Tigers and his Tate Aggies. Mike and his wife Sylvia, were also very active in their church's food bank ministry where they were both active with inventory and distribution,.
Mike is survived by his loving wife, Sylvia of 57 years and his children, Tina Kelly of New Orleans, LA and his son Patrick Kelly of Pace, FL as well as his brother, Jerry Kelly and his sister Lisa Ard with brother-in-law, Randy Ard, in addition to many nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles. Mike was blessed to have so many friends that became so much like family. Special thanks from his family to a few of those friends in his life, Butch, Noel, and Weldie.
A visitation will be held from 12-2 PM on Tuesday, July 17,2018 at Victory Assembly of God,1895 Victory Rd. Cantonment, FL 32533, with the Funeral Service to follow. The Interment will take place at Eastern Gate Memorial Gardens, Pensacola Fl. Arrangements are entrusted to Eastern Gate Memorial Funeral Home.
