Myrtice Morgan Painter was born on February 19, 1924 in McKenzie, Alabama to Nathan Stanford Morgan and Dora Caroline Barrington. She was the youngest of twelve children, and with her passing she is the last of her generation. She was a lifelong resident of Pensacola.
She is survived by her daughter Carolyn Painter Gilleece of Altamonte Springs, FL and sons Gerald Painter (Faye) of Gilbert, SC and Roger Arnold Painter (Sherry) of Oviedo, FL. She had ten grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by granddaughter Kathleen Gilleece.
Honorary pall bearers are her grandchildren: Jennifer Gilleece Powers, Daniel Gilleece, Jeremy Gilleece, Rachel Painter Kelley, Bryan Painter, Aaron Painter, Roger Kyle Painter, Kevin Painter and Zachary Painter.
She was a member of The Joy Sunday School Class at Olive Baptist Church. She was a retired school bus driver.
She is well loved by her family and will be missed by all her sweet nieces and nephews which numbered 52.
The Reverend Myron Kenneth Sliger will be officiating.
The family will receive friends at Eastern Gate Funeral Home from 10 until 11 am on Saturday July 14, 2012, with the funeral service following at 11:00 am. Interment will follow at Eastern Gate Memorial Gardens.
