Pat is survived by his wife, Linda Dawson; daughters, Jenifer (Chris) Jones, Emily (Darren) Holley, Lindsey (David) Allen, and Courtney (Patrick) Miller; Grandchildren, Evan and Megan Jones, Jared and Zachary Holley, Emory and Molly Allen, Dawson, Grayson and Charleston Miller; and great-grand daughter, Lucy Jones. He is preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Virginia; brother, Donald Dawson; In-laws, Marcel and Genevieve Klimaszewski; and sister-in-law, Carol Matson.
Pat was a veteran of the US Navy, where he served in the Naval Reserve. For many years, Pat was a project manager with Milcom Systems. His career in telecommunications allowed him travel all around the world, including Antartica. In his later years, Pat was a volunteer firefighter with Ferry Pass and Gulf Breeze. He also volunteered with the Gulf Breeze Police Department, Santa Rosa Sheriff's Department and the Florida Highway Patrol. Pat was a hobby HAM radio operator and an avid NASCAR fan. He was a dedicated animal lover and was devoted to all of the family pets: Allie, Lexus, Heidi, Dingo and Dayla. Because of his love for animals, mammals and nature, he developed an immeasurable love for whales, which lead him to become a contributor to the Sea Shepherd Society.
A graveside service will be held on October 11, 2024, at 11:00 AM at Bayview Memorial Park. A reception and gathering will be held immediately after at Azalea Trace in the Auditorium.
