He was born on November 9, 1934, the eighth child of Dozie Edmonds and Rufus Clemons in Santa Rosa County, Florida.
His formative years as a child and young man were spent in Pensacola, Florida. It was there that he met and married the love of his life Estelle Lafayette.
He and Estelle spent their life together in Detroit, Michigan where Preston was a dedicated employee of General Motors until his retirement.
After residing for numerous years in Detroit, he decided to return home to Pensacola in 2021 to be closer to his remaining loved ones.
Preston is preceded in death by his parents, Dozie Edmonds and Rufus Clemons, his eight siblings: Fate Edmond, Hallie, Leonard, Johnny, Mae Willis, Rufus, Glennie Pearl “Doll” and Evelyn, and by his beloved wife Estelle.
He is survived by a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
