Craig Eakes, known to many as "BEAR" or Randy Craig Eakes born January 27, 1984, in Jackson, Mississippi, passed away unexpectedly on May 20, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family. Craig leaves behind a legacy of kindness, laughter, and unwavering devotion to those he loved most. He was a beloved husband, father, son, brother, uncle, and friend whose generous spirit touched the lives of everyone, fortunate enough to know him.
Craig was a devoted husband to his wife, Tabatha Eakes, and a proud and loving father to Peyton Boswell, age 5, Hudson Eakes, age 3, and Charlotte Eakes, age 2. His family was the center of his world, and he dedicated his life to caring for and providing for them. Some of his happiest moments were spent making memories with his wife and children on adventures to the beach, exploring flea markets and thrift stores, and simply enjoying time together.
A die-hard fan of Ole Miss Rebels football, Craig loved cheering on his team and sharing that passion with those around him. He was known for his larger-than-life heart and the way he could make anyone feel welcome. Craig never met a stranger and would truly give the shirt off his back to anyone in need. He always wanted the people around him to be happy, laughing, and cared for.
Craig worked as a crane operator and truck driver, careers he took great pride in. He loved his work and valued all the friendships and connections he made along the way. His hardworking nature, loyalty, and willingness to help others earned him the respect and admiration of many.
He is survived by his loving wife, Tabatha Eakes; his children, Peyton Boswell, Hudson and Charlotte Eakes; his mother, Linda Eakes; his father, Randy Eakes; his in-laws, Melissa and Philip Porter; his brothers, Austin Eakes, Timothy Eakes and wife Jennifer, and Justin Eakes and wife Tiffany; his nieces and nephews, Emily Eakes, Tyler Eakes and wife Cloee, Aubrianna Eakes, Arabella Eakes, and Justin Eakes Jr.; and his great nephew Roper Eakes.
A Celebration of Life will be held on June 5, 2026, from 5:00pm- 7:00 p.m., with a service beginning at 6:00 p.m. at Together Church, located at 4289 Berryhill Road, Pace, Florida 32571.
In lieu of flowers and to honor Craig’s love and devotion to his family, donations may be made to the children’s fund on the Go Fund me that has been set up.
Though Craig’s time here was far too short, the love he gave, the laughter he shared, and the memories he created will live on forever in the hearts of his family and friends. He will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.
