Colonel Richard G. Rodriguez, USMC (Ret), 87, of Pensacola, Florida passed away peacefully on February 27, 2020 at his home. He was born on December 23, 1932 in Raleigh, North Carolina. Richard was a Fighter Pilot and an Air Safety Investigator while he served 33 years in the United States Marine Corps. He was also employed by the National Transportation Safety Board, and a Volunteer Tour Guide at the Naval Aviation Museum. Richard was a long time member of The Point Church.
He was married to Norma D. Rodriguez, who preceded him in death. He is survived by four sons, Richard C. Rodriguez, Jr., Ronnie Rodriguez, Robert Rodriguez and Randall Rodriguez; brother, Rene Rodriguez; eight grandchildren; and one great grandchild.
In Lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Naval Aviation Museum, Pensacola, Florida.
Funeral service will be held 11:00 am, Wednesday, March 04, 2020 at The Point Church. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will immediately follow at Barrancas National Cemetery with full military honors. A reception in memory of Richard will be at The Point Church after the graveside service.
