He worked in the construction industry and co-owned his own business.
Gene is preceded in death by his parents, multiple siblings, aunts, uncles and other family members.
He is survived by his sons, Robert Eugene Murphy Jr., Michael Edward Murphy, and Adam Thomas Murphy; two daughter-in laws, Rowena Murphy and Brenda Murphy; five grandchildren, four great grandchildren, three brothers, and four sisters.
The family would like to thank Brenda Murphy and Covenant Care Hospice for the care and compassion they showed Gene in his final days.
A visitation for Gene will be held Tuesday, February 6, 2024, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Eastern Gate Memorial Funeral Home, 1985 West Nine Mile Road, Pensacola, FL 32534. A funeral service will occur Tuesday, February 6, 2024, from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Eastern Gate Memorial Funeral Home. An interment will follow services at Eastern Gate Memorial Gardens, 1985 West Nine Mile Road, Pensacola, FL 32534.
