A native of Pace, Florida, she spent most of her 85 years in either Pace or Pensacola, Florida. However, she did venture out of the area when her husband, Hilton (Billy) Jones Jr.’s, Army career took them both away from home. She preferred to spend her down time doing crafts, reading, or playing games. If you asked her what her proudest moment was, she was quick to answer with going back to school at the age of 52 to earn her high school diploma while working at the Sacred Heart Hospital Emergency Room. She had left school to marry the love of her life, and embark on her dream of becoming a mother and eventually (and probably even better to her) a grandmother.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ernie and Ada Stewart; brothers, Gerald Stewart and Donald Stewart; and sisters, Charlotte (Stewart) Gill, and Debbie (Stewart) Foreman.
She is survived by her devoted and loving husband of 68 years, Hilton Jones Jr.; Children, Kay (Roy) Pope of Pace, Fl., Randy (Sharon) Jones of Pensacola, Fl., and Missy (David) Wright of St. Marys, Ga.; grandchildren, Abbey Wright of St. Marys, Ga., Blake, Nathaniel, Ryan, and Alyssa Jones all of Pensacola, Fl.; brothers, Adrian (Mary) Stewart of Phenix City, Al. and David (Lonnie) Stewart of Pace, Fl.; sisters, Dianne (Stewart) Brooks of Pace, Fl. and Linda (Dick) Cooley of Mansfield, Tx.; and many cherished nieces and nephews, and many other beloved family and friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, May 16, 2026 at Floridatown Baptist Church. The family will receive guests one hour prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Floridatown Baptist Church.
