Teresa Lyne Lucas, age 59, of Pensacola, Florida passed away on Saturday, January 22, 2022 in a tragic car accident as she drove home from her work place on Perdido Key. The daughter of William and Connie Lucas. Teresa was born February 12, 1962 at the old Navy Hospital aboard NAS Pensacola. As a "Navy Brat" the first few years of her life she lived in Morocco, Virginia Beach, and New Jersey before returning back to Pensacola for her father's last duty station. Here she attended school at Little Flower Catholic School, Bellview Middle School and Escambia High School graduating in Class of 1980. After graduating from Pensacola State College and UWF she became the Program Director for the Dental Assistant Program at Pensacola State College for several years. When the program was discontinued at the college, continued very involved in the organizing and active participation of the many yearly mission trips, local and Regional Dentists made to miscellaneous countries of Central and South America. She became a C.P.R. Instructor and a member of FEMA. As a lifelong animal lover she helped to organize "The Local Wiener Dog Races" benefiting the local Dachshunds Rescue Teams. She enjoyed riding her motorcycle and the trips to miscellaneous places with friends. Teresa loved spending time on the water of the Gulf, riding on boats and kayaks, fishing or just sitting on the beach reading a book. Rare was there a day or place that you didn't see her reading a book.
Teresa is preceded in death by her father William (Daddio) Lugas and her brother-in-law Gary Cassidy.
She is survived by her mother Connie Lucas; her eternal best friend and sister, Linda Cassidy; brother, Mark Lucas (Vyvyan); niece, Sonya Cervantes (Eric) and their daughters Cassidy and Candice Cervantes; nephew Lucas Cassidy (Stacia) and their son Cameron (Felco) Cassidy; nephew Stephen Lucas and her two four legged Kids Kamier and Cage Lucas; and many dear friends.
In April many friends of Teresa's representing her grade school thru present times gathered on the outside grounds of the Flight Deck to reminisce and share of times they had spent with her and enjoyed snacks and singing songs to her.
A Saturday weekend in June her Co-workers, several residence members of her work place the "Lost Key Condo's sight 18" and her family members gathered there to plant a memorial tree on the grounds outside her office. the next day all her family, close friends, and Priest Father John Licari boarded a boat at Perdido Key and sailed out on the Gulf waters taking the Urn with Teresa's ashes to the Joe Patti Memorial Reef off Pensacola Pass where there two professional divers took her Urn down and permanently attached it to the Historical Pensacola Reef in her beloved Gulf.
On the trip out to the reef Father Licari administered her last rites and read the Personal Special Blessing Teresa received from Pope Paul VI in 1964 when the family was in Rome.
The family Thanks Father Licari, Frankie, Gretchen, Brad and Melissa for making this day possible for Teresa. Her departing words were always, "Have a groovy day".
