Thelma L. Pendleton Swank, 92, of Pensacola, FL died peacefully at home, Friday, September 25, 2015 in Pensacola. Mrs. Swank was born in Crestview, Florida in 1923. She moved to Pensacola in 1941 from Milton, Florida. During World War II she worked at Pensacola NAS as Rosie the riveter and for the War Department. She also worked as a bookkeeper for Warrington Pharmacy and Moulton Pharmacy. Mrs. Swank has been a member of Brownsville Assembly of God for over 65 years, where she enjoyed being in the Women's Ministry and the Golden Agers.She is preceded in death by her mother, Bessie Viola Holmes and father, John Holmes. Mrs. Pendleton is also preceded in death by her first husband, Benjamin Lewis Pendleton; and son-in-law, Jerry Neil Cook.Survivors include her husband, James Swank; son, Roger Kenneth Pendleton and wife, Joyce Ann; daughter, Patricia Ann (Pendleton) Cook; grandchildren, Corey Kenneth Pendleton and Tamela Susan Cook Youngblood; great grandson, Jesse Youngblood.Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, September 29, 2015 at Brownsville Assembly of God with Pastor Evan Horton officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Eastern Gate Memorial Gardens.In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Women's Ministry at Brownsville Assembly of God, 3100 DeSoto Street, Pensacola, FL 32505.
