Thomas Poole

Thomas Oatha Poole (Pawpaw), 78, of Cantonment, FL passed away peacefully at his residence on Wednesday, June 11th, 2025. He was born July 21st, 1946, in Pensacola, FL. He married Patricia Ann Murphy on July 13th, 1968, and shared almost 57 years in marriage together. Tommy told her every day how much he loved her and how pretty she was. He worked in the grocery and the insurance industry for many years and was loved by all of his co-workers. He enjoyed spending time with his grandkids and great grandkids and loved to watch tv in his bedroom daily with his wife by his side. In his younger years, Tommy loved to fish, go to the mountains, and just take long rides on back roads with his wife and special friends, Donnie and John Lee. He had many friends that he loved dearly.

He is survived by his wife, Patricia Anne Poole (Meme); five brothers: Wayne Poole and wife, Pat; Larry Poole and wife, Ginger; Eddie Nims and wife, Sarah; Ricky Nims and wife, Susie; Randy Nims and wife, Sherry; two sons: Christopher Poole and life partner, Kim; and Tommy Lee Poole Junior; seven grandchildren: Kristen Lloyd Thomason and husband, Mark; Cade Poole and wife, Carla; Brittney McCraney; Emily Mitchell and husband, Alex; and Thomas Lee Poole III and Conner and Tristan; four great-grandchildren: Kayleigh Lloyd, Kolton Lloyd, Kinzleigh Lloyd and Olivia Poole; and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Hattie and Trammel Nims; his daughter, Donna Elizabeth Rogers and husband, Fred; and grandson in law, Douglas Lloyd.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 19th at Eastern Gate Memorial Funeral Home at 10:00am with services being conducted by nephew, Reverend Jason Poole. Immediate family will gather at 9:00am. In lieu of flowers, the family's wish is to make donations. Please make any donations out to Patricia Poole.
