Veronica Greene

1923 - 2011

Veronica (Ronnie) Rulka Greene, of Pensacola, Florida passed away on Tuesday, June 7, 2011 at 88 years of age.

She and her husband, Paul, met while they both were serving in the United States Navy. During their 63 years of marriage they raised four children, welcomed three grandchildren, enjoyed lasting friendships, and traveled extensively. She will be remembered for her devotion to family and love of flowers.

Veronica was preceded in death by her son, Steven Randall Greene.

She is survived by her husband, Paul Gilbert Greene; her children and their spouses, Rhonda and John Halvorson, Paul Gregory Greene and Terri Murdoch, Sheryl and Shawn Walker; and by her grandchildren, Christina Lynn Greene, Matthew Kyle Walker, and Margaret (Maggie) Caitlin Walker.

Family will receive friends at Oak Lawn Funeral Home on Sunday, June 12, 3:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m., with a rosary at 4:00 p.m. Mass will be celebrated at Little Flower Catholic Church on Monday, June 13, at 10:30 a.m. Burial with military honors will follow at Barrancas National Cemetery. Following the service, family and friends are invited to a celebration of Ronnie’s life at the home of Sheryl and Shawn Walker.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society in the name of Veronica Greene.
