Walter Frederick Smith III passed quietly in his Pensacola home on July 28 at age 64. "Rick", as he was also known, was a man of unlimited talents and capabilities. Most recently he was a Project Manager for DHL Shipping before retiring last December. At DHL he was responsible for facility construction and expansion east of the Mississippi. Walter's greatest joy was his charity, family and friends. An active member of Pensacola Habitat for Humanity, he worked on many projects and mentored numerous team members. Walter is survived by his wife Rebecca (Dickson), sister Pamela O'Connor (William), his Aunt Linda and Uncle Dennis Jozwiakowski as well as many brother & sister in laws and nieces and nephews.
Services will be held on Saturday, August 6 at St. John's Catholic Church, Visitation 10am. Mass at 11am, followed by a reception. In lieu of flowers please send donations to Pensacola Habitat for Humanity, 300 W. Leonard St., Pensacola, FL. 32501.
