

Bill served 22 years in the United States Navy as an aerographer's mate and was stationed aboard the USS Kenneth Whiting in 1957. After his retirement, Bill found a niche in the aviation industry as a master training specialist in meteorology for the flight program. He was responsible for teaching pilots how to read and interpret teletype and facsimile charts and how to conduct flight planning. Bill enjoyed his time working with pilots, as he was able to do many of the same tasks as when he was in the military.
Bill is survived by his children, Leslie (Virgil) Wyrosdick and Michael (Michelle) Way; grandchildren, Ashley Post, Brian (Wendy) Howell, Raven (Wayne) Griffith, Peggy Garnett, Christopher Way, Savannah Way and Robert Way; great-grandchildren, Shane, Rylee, Jaxson, Lauren, Rayla, Kenade, Karson, Elizabeth, Aiden, Cullen, Waylon, Michael, Melissa, Archer, Jason and Lila; and one great-great-grandchild, Wayne; and a brother, Thomas Way. Bill is preceded in passing by his wife of 55 years, Myrtle "Sally" Way; his brother, Bob Way; his parents and grandparents.
A visitation for Bill will be held Saturday, August 16th at 10:00 AM at Bayview Fisher-Pou Chapel, 3351 Scenic Highway, Pensacola, FL 32503. There will be a graveside service immediately following at 11:00 AM at Bayview Memorial Park.
