Willie Lea Nappier (Kerr) Longworth, 89, of Pensacola, passed away Wednesday, September 1, 2010 at Baptist Hospital in Pensacola. Her home was in Chattanooga, TN, but she has lived in Pensacola for a number of years. She is survived by three step daughters: Ora Nell Burke, Fontella Blessett and Naomi Sue Horn, all of Louisville, Ky., and several nieces and nephews. Her first marriage was to Fred Howard Kerr who preceded her in death. Mrs. Longworth attended school in Chattanooga and Southwestern Theological Seminary in Fort Worth Texas. Along with her first husband she served churches in Chattanooga, Knoxville, Memphis and Pensacola. She was a member of the Warrington Baptist Church. Mrs. Longworth retired from the United States Postal Service, Southern Regional Office, Atlanta.
Mrs Longworth’s second marriage was to Rev. William Clayton Longworth of Middlesboro, KY. At their retirement they moved to Pensacola.
Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, September 4, 2010 at Bayview Fisher-Pou Chapel, 3351 Scenic Highway, Pensacola, with burial to follow in Bayview Memorial Park. Visitation will be 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday, September 4, 2010 at the funeral home. Deacons of the Warrington Baptist Church will be serving as pall bears.
