Alexandra M.A. Whitehurst, passed away on February 1, 2026, at the age of 42. Born on January 20, 1984, in Peoria, Illinois, she was the beloved daughter of David and the late Edna (Schmitt) Whitehurst.
Alexandra was a cherished mother to Olivia (Matthew) Peterson, Bryce Whitehurst, Koleson Whitehurst, Owen Whitehurst, and Dawson Whitehurst. She was a proud grandmother to Tessa Peterson. Her sister, Hope (Jeffrey) McKenna, along with her nieces and nephews, Taylor Whitehurst, Will Yount, Reese Yount, and Aiden McKenna, will deeply miss her presence.
A resident of Pekin, Illinois, Alexandra graduated from Peoria Christian High School and furthered her education through the ICC Respiratory Therapy Program. Her career as a respiratory therapist was marked by a deep passion for caring for her patients.
Alexandra had a zest for life, enjoying true crime shows, especially never missing a Friday episode of Dateline. She found joy in spending time with her children and granddaughter, crafting, and was known for her love of bedazzling and adding glitter to everything in her house. She also cherished going on car rides, listening to music, and exploring the world around her.
She was preceded in death by her mother and grandparents, Ralph and Jane Schmitt and Gene and Betty Whitehurst.
Services for Alexandra will be held on Friday, February 6, 2026, with visitation from 12:30 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., followed by a service at 2:00 p.m. at Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel. Burial will follow at Parkview Cemetery, Peoria.
