

Anna Lou Bollinger passed away peacefully on September 7, 2016. She was 94. Born in Koblenz, Germany to Nellie and Douglas Fell on February 6, 1922, she is survived by her son, Carl E., Peoria, daughter Helen Cummins, Daytona Beach, FL, sister Helen Jonoski, San Dimas, CA and niece Dorothy Ann Cabrera, San Dimas, CA. Anna lived in America until age 7, lived in Germany through WWII until 1946 when she relocated to her father in Minnesota where she met her husband, the Reverend Carl J. Bollinger. They were married in June 1947. Growing up in Germany she was introduced to classical music inside glorious churches and cathedrals, sang in choirs in her teens, majored in languages at Freiburg Breisgau University and later became an interpreter for the American consulate in Bavaria before coming back to America. Ann was an avid reader, immaculate housekeeper, very organized and efficient, a wonderful and caring mother, devoted wife and an excellent cook. She loved to travel and attend opera and classical events with her husband who shared her love of the arts. A memorial service is being planned for Saturday, October 29, 2016 at First Baptist of Peoria. Further details to be published at a later date.
