Augusta Willis

Peoria: Augusta W. Willis, 93, of Peoria, passed away at 12:45 a.m. on Saturday, September 14, 2013 at Lutheran Hillside Village in Peoria. She was born January 27, 1920 in Peoria, IL, the daughter of Phillip and Rosa Loeffler Rech.  She married Robert F. Willis on December 26,  1941, in Peoria.  He preceded her in death on August 5, 2007. Surviving are two sons, Robert K. ( Carolyn) Willis of Springdale, AR. and Scott D. (Sue) Willis of Washington, IL; two daughters, Linda M. (Steve) Harrison of Creve Coeur and Connie M. (Rodney) Doyle of Easton, IL; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.  Augusta was preceded in death by her parents and nine siblings. She graduated Christ Lutheran Elementary School and Manual High School in 1937.  She was a homemaker.  She was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church, where funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m., Friday, September 20, 2013.  The Rev. Joseph Meyer will officiate.  Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m., Thursday at Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel and one hour prior to services at the church on Friday. Burial will be in Swan Lake Memory Gardens in Peoria, IL. Memorials may be made to Redeemer Lutheran Church or Lutheran Hillside Village.
