Carol June Langjahr

Peoria - Carol J. Langjahr, 80, of Peoria, passed away on Friday, November 12, 2021 in Peoria. She was born on June 10, 1941 in Peoria, a daughter of Albert L. and Eleanor F. (Kroepel) Rosenbohm. She married Dean A. Langjahr on February 27, 1960 in Bartonville. He preceded her in death on June 26, 2008 in Peoria.

She was also preceded in death by her parents.

Carol is survived by her two children, Sherry L. (Robert) Wear of Keller, TX and Greg D. (Wendy) Langjahr of Hartsville, SC; four grandchildren, Lauren and Bert Wear of Keller, TX and Nathan and Nicholas Langjahr of Hartsville, SC.

Carol worked in the Advertising Department for the Peoria Journal Star for over 20 years, retiring in 2005.

She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Peoria and a former member of St. John Lutheran Church in Bartonville where she was an active volunteer for both churches. Carol was a member of the Peoria Farm Bureau and was an active volunteer for Susan G. Komen over the years.

Carol's funeral service will be at 11:00 am Thursday, November 18, 2021 at St. John Lutheran Church in Bartonville. Rev. Michael Jones will officiate. Her visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm Wednesday, November 17, 2021 at the Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel in Peoria. Burial will take place in St. John Lutheran Church Cemetery in Bartonville. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Susan G. Komen.
