Carol Ann Sims

Born March 14, 1948 in Peoria, IL to Donovan and Virginia (Muzzy) Defenbaugh. She married James “Frank” Sims in Peoria on May 26, 1973. He survives.

Also surviving are one sister, Bonnie Defenbaugh; two children, Thomas (Toonesse Williams) Sims and Jami (Byron Hiatt) Sims; one granddaughter, Trinity Sims; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and one brother, Donald Muzzy.

She graduated from Peoria Central High School in 1966. She later worked at Carsons and then at Bennett Publishing.

She was raised and baptized in the Second Baptist Church. Through her last years of life she kept her faith and watched her services on television broadcasts by Grace Presbyterian Church.

Carol volunteered for various local organizations. She loved to fish, bowl, and cook.

Funeral Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 14, 2012 at Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel in Peoria with Rev. Joey Watt officiating. Visitation will be one hour before services at the Chapel on Wednesday. Burial will be at Parkview Cemetery in Peoria.

Memorials may be made to the American Heart, Lung, or Diabetes Association.
