

Charles F. "Chuck" Hemmer, 95, passed away on September 8, 2025, at Apostolic Christian Skylines in Peoria, Illinois. He was born on July 24, 1930 in Princeville to Max E. and Martha (Martin) Hemmer. He married Marian R. Woerner on September 7, 1952 in Peoria. She passed away on October 21, 2011.
He is survived by his children, Jane (Steve) Suttor, Jean (Jim) Huber, Joanne (the late Kent) Steffen and Charles "Chip" (Kim) Hemmer, all of Peoria; and Judy (Dr. Stanley) Sauder of Westerville, Ohio. Also surviving is one sister, Miriam (the late Lynn) Klopfenstein of Anderson, South Carolina, eleven grandchildren, twenty-five great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
He was a member of Peoria Apostolic Christian Church where he served as a Minister, then Ordained Deacon and then as Elder from 1968 – 2005.
Chuck served as a Corporal in the United States Army and was awarded a Certificate of Achievement by the Army General. He owned Hemmer Feed & Farm Service in Speer, Illinois for forty-two years, retiring in 1995. He was also a real estate appraiser, owning Chuck Hemmer Realty and later worked in Real Estate Sales for Jim Maloof Realtor.
He was known by many for his kindness and love, giving God the glory in everything he did. He will be greatly missed.
Funeral Services will be held at Peoria Apostolic Christian Church on Sheridan Road at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 13, 2025. Church Ministers will officiate. The burial will follow in the Apostolic Christian Church Cemetery, rural Edwards. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, September 12 at Davison-Fulton Woolsey-Wilton Funeral Home on Willow Knolls Drive in Peoria and from 9:00 to 9:45 a.m. Saturday, September 13 before the funeral service at the church.
