

Chris was a man who never knew a stranger, known for his gift of gab and his love for the open road as a truck driver. He worked for Manito Transit and previously for PDC/GFL.
Chris married Jennie Meinke on November 7, 1992, and together they built a loving family, including their sons, Thomas and Matthew Murfin.
He is survived by his mother-in-law, Doris Meinke; his brother-in-law, Larry (Karen) Meinke, sisters-in-law, Jackie (Doug) Habel and Sue Cagnina, and nephew, Mitch (Jessica) Holmes, along with other nieces and nephews. His best friend since childhood, Rick (Anna) Roberts, was a constant presence in his life; lastly he is survived by his dog Riley and grand-dog, Cooper.
Chris preceded in death by his father-in-law, Russ Meinke and his dog, Buddy.
Chris was very hard-working and had a deep love for his family and bourbon. He served many years on the Dunlap Fire Department and was fond of serving alongside his fellow brothers and sisters in the community. An avid rock and roll fan.
He loved to cook and shared his green bean and corn casserole recipes with his sons on Thanksgiving.
A celebration of Chris's life will take place on December 14, 2025, at 1:30 PM at the Northwest United Methodist Church.
Memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society in his honor.
