

Clarence was born October 13, 1944 in Hanna, Wyoming to John and Lyza (Holivay) Oliver; he married Justine Moore on April 10, 1976 in Peoria. She survives.
Also surviving are twin sons, Aaron Keith (Felicia) Oliver of Lancaster, CA and Ian Dwight (Sharmilah) Oliver of Land O’ Lakes, FL; his brother James H. (Gloria) Oliver of Maumee, OH; and two grandchildren, Krissy A. Oliver and Ian M. Oliver.
Preceding him in death were his parents, 3 sisters and 2 brothers.
Clarence was a sports enthusiast, having played high school and college basketball. He was also an avid tennis player and enjoyed playing and teaching the game of chess.
He earned an undergraduate degree from McKendree College and a Master’s degree from Bradley University.
Mr. Oliver was a teacher with Peoria School District #150 for 35 years, retiring in 2000. He is often remembered for the positive impression left on his students. He was a caring and generous man who carried himself with a quiet confidence which earned him the respect of both students and peers.
Clarence served many years as a Deacon of St. Paul Baptist Church, 114 West Forrest Hill Ave in Peoria, IL where his life will be celebrated with a funeral service at 11:00 am Saturday, February 27, 2016 with Pastor Deveraux Hubbard officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the funeral at the church. Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel is honored to help the Oliver family with the arrangements.
