Dan R. Young Brimfield, IL DanR.Young, 62, of Brimfield, passed away at 3:35 pm on Saturday, September 7, 2013 at the Richard L. Owens Hospice Home in Peoria, after a ten year battle with cancer. He was born September 25, 1950 in Peoria, IL to Raymond and Joan (Dietsch) Young. He married Merry Manuel on May 5, 1984 in Peoria. He was preceded in death by his grandparents. Surviving is his wife Merry of Brimfield, his parents, Raymond and Joan of Peoria, three children, Brenda (Matt Legaspi) Young of Peoria, Morgan and Tony Young of Brimfield, four grandchildren, Reese, Lauren, Jaeden and Evan Legaspi all of Peoria. Also surviving are two sisters Nancy Young of Peoria and Mary (Kevin) Brummitt of East Peoria, IL, two nieces and one nephew. Dan was a graduate of Manual High School and served in the U.S. Navy from 1969 until being honorably discharged in 1972. He served aboard the U.S.S. Hector during the Vietnam War. Dan worked for Pabst Brewery until its closing, then workedin maintenanceat W.M.B.D. and finally as a Locksmith at OSF. St. Francis Medical Center from 1987 until July of 2013. Visitation will be on Thursday, September 12, 2013 from 5 to 8 pm at Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel in Peoria. The funeral will be Friday, September 13, 2013 at 11:00 am at the funeral home. The Rev.
