Daniel Wayne "Danny" Burkhalter, 50, of Hopewell, passed away on Wednesday July 12, 2023 at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria. He was born on June 17, 1973 in Peoria, a son of Ivan R. Burkhalter and Cynthia L. (Ealey) Burkhalter. Danny married Aimee L. Halverson on August 11, 1997 in Lacon. She survives.
He is also survived by his two children, Cheyanne Burkhalter of Hopewell and Jacob Burkhalter of Pekin; his parents, Ivan and Cindy Burkhalter of Hopewell; his brother, Matthew Burkhalter of Hopewell; his sister, Carissa Lemons of Chillicothe; and several nieces and nephews.
Danny was preceded in death by his grandparents.
He worked as a pharmacy technician for OSF Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria since 2001.
Danny loved to read science fiction, was a "Trekkie", loved to tinker with electronics, collect hats and shoes, and take his children and nephews fishing.
Danny's visitation will be from 2:00 to 4:00 pm Tuesday, July 18, 2023 at the Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel in Peoria. There will be no service. Inurnment will take place at a later date.
