
David J. Harrison, 81, of Normal, IL formally of Peoria passed away Thursday December 23, 2010 in Bloomington, IL. David was born February 24, 1929 in Peoria to Max and Hannah Rosinski Harrison. He later married Evelyn Makabi on March 17, 1977 at the Agudas Achim Synagogue in Peoria.
Surviving are his wife Evelyn in Normal, IL, a son Max Harrison of Normal, step-sons Alan (Myrna) Makabi of Cedar Rapids, IA, and Michael Makabi of Normal, and two grandchildren Jasmine and Jacob Makabi of Cedar Rapids, IA. David was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, and one sister.
David was a veteran of the United States Army serving during the Korean War. After returning home, David went to work for an R.C.A. repair center in Peoria then he opened his own television repair business in Bartonville. Later he went to work for Caterpillar, Inc. where he was an instrument repairman at the Tech. Center in Mossville for 30 years before retiring in 1994. While living in Peoria, David was a member of the Agudas Achim Synagogue and the Peoria Barber Shop Chorus.
Graveside services will be held at 1 pm Monday December 27, 2010 at the Peoria Hebrew Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Sugar Creek Alzheimer’s Special Care Center in Normal, IL, the IL.
