David J. Young, age 74, of Peoria, passed away Wednesday Jan. 27, 2016 at 7:42 a.m. at his residence. He was born April 13, 1941 in Bond County, IL. to. He married Shirley Wood in Peoria in 1984. She survives along with five sons, and five daughters including a son, Raymond (Lorie) Closen of Peoria, and a daughter, Wendy (Delbert) Watson of Springfield, numerous grandchildren, one brother, and two sisters. He was preceded in death by his parents, and nine brothers and sisters. David was a self-employed recycler. Cremation rites have been accorded. Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel is in charge of arrangements. A celebration of David’s life will be Tuesday Feb. 2, 2016 at 11 a.m. at the Tabernacle Baptist Church, 117 S Steubenville St., Peoria, IL 61605.
