He was born April 27, 1926 in Camp Grove, IL to Walter Morgan and Lula (Cartwright) Myers and grew up in Lacon, IL. He married Maxine McAllister on August 18, 1946 and she preceded him in death on April 25, 2009. He later married Shirley Manning on October 13, 2012 and she preceded him in death on January 7, 2017. Also preceding him in death were his parents, three sisters and two brothers.
Surviving are his two children, Fay Myers-Bachman of Phoenix, AZ and Dale (Mary) Myers of Dunlap. Also surviving are five grandchildren, Adam Bachman, Kelly Bachman, Amy (Ray) Nicholson, Amanda (Danny) Masters and Mike Myers; and a great-grandson, Gavin Masters.
Dean served in the U.S. Navy during WWII and was honorably discharged in 1946. He worked as a Salesman for Purex/Dial Corporation before retiring. He was a member of Bethany Baptist Church in Edwards and a past member of the American Legion Post 979 in Bartonville. Dean was a handyman, woodworker and he was an avid fisherman.
A private family service will be held with a burial at Swan Lake in Peoria.
