

DeWitt L. "Dee" Tyree, 61, of Peoria, passed away on Saturday, February 7, 2026, at his residence at Gateway at River City. Born in Peoria, on June 25, 1964, he was the son of the late Arvil and Nancy (Nesmith) Tyree. On October 21, 2006, he married Christine Burke in Peoria. She preceded him in death on May 14, 2016.
Survivors include two sisters-in-law, Coleen (Tony) Egan and Claranne (Todd) Gleason; brother-in-law, Jeff (Melissa) Burke; mother-in-law, Carroll Gorman; two aunts, Lael (Bill Snyder) Nesmith and Beatrice "Bea" Keeton; uncle, Don Nesmith; nieces and nephews, Nicholas Egan, Kristen (John) Powell, Meghan Gleason, Jared Gleason, and Bradley Gleason; great niece, Keira; and two great nephews, Ronan and Camden. Aside from his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his step-daughter, Rachael Van Dyke; father-in-law, Frank Gorman; and an uncle, Richard Gooch.
Dee was a bus monitor and delivery driver for Peoria Public Schools District 150 for many years. He enjoyed bowling, playing BINGO and doing crafts at Gateway, and was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan.
Visitation will take place on Saturday, February 14, 2026, at Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service at 2:00 p.m. Interment will take place privately at East Lawn Cemetery in Salem, IL.
