Diane Lynn Perry, 67, of Dunlap, passed away on Sunday, May 28, 2023 at her home. She was born on July 10, 1955 in Peoria, the daughter of Clyde William Meyers and Margaret Jennie (Flynn) Meyers. Diane married Christopher Jon Perry on July 1, 1978 in Peoria. He survives.
Diane is also survived by her son, Jonathan Michael Perry who resides in their home in Dunlap; brother, David (Betty) Meyers of Metamora; three brothers-in-law, Michael (Jane) Perry of Canaan, Connecticut, Richard (Teresa) Perry of Knoxville, Tennessee, and David (Suzanne) Perry of Port St. Lucie, Florida; sister-in-law, Doreen (James) Treadwell of Harpersville, New York; and many nieces and nephews.
Diane was preceded in death by her parents.
She was a graduate of Peoria High School, Class of 1973. Diane graduated from Illinois State University in 1977 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in French and Spanish. She graduated from Northwestern University National Trust School in 1987 and Northwestern University National Graduate Trust School in 1989.
Diane last worked as the Assistant Vice President/Trust Officer for First of America Bank in Peoria, retiring in 1995 after 18 years to become a “stay-at-home” mother.
Diane was a member of Northminster Presbyterian Church in Peoria. She was actively involved with the Angel’s Arms Special Needs Ministry, Fellowship Dinner Groups and Bible Study Groups. She also had served with the United Way Allocations Panel, Board of the Peoria High School Alumni Association, and the Peoria Junior Women’s Club. For the past 10 years much of Diane’s time and certainly her passion was as the Lead Teacher/Director of a transitional program for special needs young adults – “People with Unlimited Potential” (PUP).
Diane loved to bake, cook, read, travel and shop. She enjoyed crafts and loved to find that special decorative touch for their home. Most all Diane loved people and she knew Jesus Christ as her Savior.
Diane's memorial service will be at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, June 13, 2023 at Northminster Presbyterian Church. Rev. Robert Jordan will officiate. The service may be live-streamed at https://youtube.com/live/sZKW1M6FfF0?feature=share
Her memorial visitation will be from 4:30 PM to 7:30 PM on Monday, June 12,2023 at her church. An additional visitation will be from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM also on Tuesday, June 13, 2023 at her church.
Inurnment will take place at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, June 13, 2023 in Swan Lake Memory Gardens in Peoria. Davison-Fulton-Woolsey-Wilton Funeral Home in Peoria is in charge of arrangements.
