Dorothy M. Bailey

Dorothy was born October 12, 1926 in Charleston, MO, the daughter of the late Frank & Mary (Baugh) Ogborn. She married Carl E. Bailey in Charleston, MO on April 19, 1947. He preceded her in death on July 27, 1994 in Peoria.

She is survived by her sons, Dennis (Marcy) Bailey and David (Vicki) Bailey both of Peoria; four grandchildren, Jeff (Stephanie)Bailey of Dunlap, Jayme (Kelly)Bailey of Peoria, Alisha (Matthew) Schoedel of Dunlap, and Aaron (Anne) Bailey of Cincinnati, Ohio; five great-grandchildren, Jeffrey, Jenny, Kelsey, and Kyla Bailey and Chloe Schoedel; one sister Ovie Dugan of Charleston, MO.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, one sister Lucille Welch and one brother Fred Ogborn.

She had attended Southeast MO State University and had taught in Mississippi County Schools. She later worked at Bergners as a supervisor and assistant buyer for 28 years, retiring in 1988.

Dorothy had been a member of Dayton Ave. Baptist Church since 1962.

Funeral Services will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, August 20, 2012 at Dayton Ave. Baptist Church in Peoria. Pastor H. B. Sunny Mooney and Pastor Paul Park will officiate. Visitation will be Sunday August 19, 2012 from 4-6 p.m. at Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel in Peoria and one hour prior to services at the church.

Burial will be in Swan Lake Memory Gardens in Peoria.

Memorials may be made to Dayton Ave. Baptist Church or Lutheran Hillside Village.
