

He was born in Chicago, IL on September 3, 1922 the son of Andrew and Angelina Carsella Bott.
Andy graduated from Northwestern University and practiced dentistry in Peoria for many years. He was a humble man and did not think of himself as a veteran of foreign wars. He was in the Army and U.S. Air Force and provided dental care for soldiers that would be shipped out soon.
Andy was all about fun. He enjoyed life to the fullest and the Heavens are a little brighter with him there. He was often referred to as the “Energizer bunny.”
Surviving him are his wife Virginia (Poppen) Bott; two lovely daughters, Robbie (Rick) Reed of Peoria, IL and Shirley (Jeff) O’Neill, of Atlanta, Georgia; two granddaughters, Jennifer (Jimmy) Dutcher of Florida, and Kristy Nielsen of Peoria, IL; three grandsons Andrew (Jennifer) O’Neill of Georgia, Matthew (Kelly Ann) O’Neill of Georgia, and Andrew (Lisa) Friedrich of Havana, IL; four great-grandchildren, Morgan Dutcher of Florida, Anthony Jenkins, Jr. of Peoria, IL, and Nora and Bradford O’Neill of Georgia; three step-children, Barb (Steve) Hansen of Texas, Mike (Cindy) Rohman of South Carolina and Connie (David) Baruch of Florida.
He was preceded in death by his first wife Martha (Johnson) Bott, two granddaughters, Sarah O’Neill and Megan Friedrich.
Andy was a member of First Baptist Church on Lake Street in Peoria, and memorials may be donated to his church.
Cremation rites have been accorded, and a “Celebration of Life” service will be held on February 20, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at his church. Visitation will be one half hour prior to service. Dr. Rev. Jim Carlson and Rev. Jim Middleton will officiate.
