Earlene Schierer

She was born February 17, 1943 in Peoria to Earl and Thelma (Manning) Haley. She married her husband of 48 years, Thomas E. Schierer, Sr. on August 3, 1963 in Peoria. He survives.

Also surviving are: two sons, Thomas Schierer, Jr. of Peoria, Timothy Schierer of East Peoria, one daughter, Tina (Shane Wagley) Schierer of East Peoria; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

She owned her own beauty salon. She worked as an interior designer for Cohen’s Furniture and Baurer Furniture Stores. She worked as a merchandising manager for several large companies including Proctor & Gamble, Rubbermaid, and Microsoft. She retired in 2007.

She was a very active person and loved outdoor activities with her family including fishing, motorcycling, snowmobiling, boating, jet-skiing, and 4-wheeling.

She also enjoyed gardening, landscaping, and arranging flower gardens for her family, neighbors, and others. Her last couple of years was highlighted by babysitting for her latest granddaughter.

A funeral service will be held at 10 A.M., Monday, March 5, 2012 at Resurrection Mausoleum. There will be no visitation. Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to American Lung Association or OSF Hospice.
