

Emma Lee Dailey, 77, of Peoria, passed away at 10:20 am on Friday, October 12, 2012 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria. She was born April 15, 1935, in Tunica, MS. to James and Beatrice (Watts) Davis. She married Cleo Dailey Sr. on December 25, 1953 in Peoria, IL. Surviving is her husband, Cleo Dailey Sr. From that union they had ten children: Rev. Cleo Dailey Jr., Michael R. (Brenda) Dailey, Deborah (Curtis) Easley, Sharon K. Dailey-Humbles, Fishers, IN, Tammy (Tommy L.) Harris, Curtis Dailey, Calvin (Gina) Dailey, all of Peoria, Marla (Glenn) Randle of Indianapolis, IN., Shirril L. Dailey Lawson, and Sherry L. Dailey. Surviving are four siblings, Wyatt (Lora Bell) Davis, Mary (Raymond) Smith, Margaret McGlone and Rufus Davis, 29 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren and host of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, one sister, Nettie Riley, and a grandson. Emma was a devout Christian who accepted Jesus Christ at an early age. She was a member of the Pastor’s Auxiliary Society, at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, in Peoria. Emma attended Woodruff High School. She last worked for Caterpillar Inc., retiring in 1986, with 20 years of work history. Previously, she worked at Bartonville State Hospital, where she worked for many years. Emma will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, a sister, friend, and a faithful wife. Visitation will be held on Friday, October 19, 2012 from 6 to 8 pm at Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel in Peoria. Funeral Services will be Saturday, October 20, 2012 at 10:00 am with visitation one hour prior to the service at Mt. Zion Baptist Church. Pastor Alfonso Lyons will officiate.
