

Ernest Matthew Bschor, 82, of Washington, passed away on Friday, June 13, 2025, at Carle Health - Methodist Hospital in Peoria. He was born on August 5, 1942, in Peoria, a son of Ernest Bschor and Aldine C. (Lehmann) Bschor. Ernest married Rosemarie Troeger in Schwarzenbach an der Saale, West Germany.
Ernest is survived by his two children, Michael (Shannon) Bschor of Aurora and Andrea (Steven) Jackson of Peoria; five grandchildren, Addison Bschor, Zachary Jackson, Jonathan Jackson, Joseph Jackson, and Steven Jackson; and one brother, Dennis E. (Cheryl) Bschor of Carefree, Arizona.
He graduated from Richwoods High School in Peoria, attended the University of Illinois, and graduated from Bradley University.
Ernest served his country in the United States Army in Herzogenaurach, Germany from 1966 to 1970.
He worked as a technical analyst for Caterpillar, Inc. for 30 years, retiring in 2002.
Ernest was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Peoria, the American Legion Post #100 in Washington, and the "Old Farts Club". He was a state champion swimmer, lifeguard, and sailor. Ernest loved history, politics, sailing, tinkering, gardening, spending time in the outdoors, hunting, and fishing. He was a beekeeper. Ernest also loved to travel and could talk to anyone.
Ernest's funeral service will be at 11:00 am on Friday, June 20, 2025, at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Peoria. Rev. Mark Nelson will officiate. His visitation will be from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Thursday, June 19, 2025, at the Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel in Peoria. An additional visitation will be from 10:00 am to 11:00 am prior to service at church on Friday. Burial will take place in Parkview Cemetery in Peoria with full military honors.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church in Peoria.
