Florence M. Mathieson

She was born July 18, 1919 in Laura, Illinois to John H. and Hilda (Munson) Quine. She married Edward Mathieson in Little Rock, AR on June 10, 1942. He preceded her in death on July 20, 1991. She was also preceded in death by her parents and 5 sisters, Hannah “Nan” Linder, Mary Oliver, Pauline Smith, Barbara Tabor and Joyce Romane.

Surviving are 2 daughters, Beverly (Dave) Engstrom of Metamora, Barb (Chuck) Mastronardi of Washington, IL; 5 grandchildren, Rev. Michael (Christina) Jones, Leanne (Scott) Cory, Mark Jones, Eric Engstrom, Sarah (Justin) Hughes; 7 great-grandchildren, Alex, Evan, Ryan, Kyle, Brayden, Landon, Aubrey; sister, Nancy (Butch) Owen; 2 brothers, Clifford (Wanda) Quine, John (Twila) Quine and numerous nieces and nephews.

Florence worked at Bradley University as a head housekeeper for 23 years before retiring. After retirement, she enjoyed volunteering at the Salvation Army and did so faithfully for 15 years. She was a member of Salem Lutheran Church in Peoria for 80 years.

Funeral Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, November 21, 2012 at Salem Lutheran Church, with Pastors Stephen Barnes and Elise Rothfusz officiating. Visitation will be one hour before services on Wednesday at the Church. Burial will be at Parkview Cemetery in Peoria. Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel in Peoria is in charge of arrangements.
