

Fred J. “Joey” George III, age 44, of Peoria, passed away Friday Sep. 6, 2013. He was born July 27, 1969 in Peoria to Fred J. and Mary (Goujon) George Jr. He married Erin Garceau Nov. 2004 in Peoria. Survivors include his father of East Peoria, one son, Will Joseph George of Peoria, two uncles: John (Mary) George of West Peoria, Gary (Leona) Sleister of East Peoria, one aunt, Sharon (Bud) Gough of Peoria, and numerous cousins. He was preceded in death by his mother and grandparents. He attended Spalding Institute and was a graduate of Thomas More College of Liberal Arts with a degree in Philosophy. Joe was a Project Engineer at D. Joseph Construction Co. in Peoria for over 20 years. He was a member of St. Philomena Catholic Church in Peoria and the Itoo Society. Joe enjoyed bartending at Jimmy’s Bar and had many friends that loved visiting him there. Joe was a loving father and his son Will was the love of his life. A funeral mass will be Tuesday Sep. 10, 2013 at 10 a.m. at St. Philomena Catholic Church on Peoria. Fr. David Henderson and Fr. Tom Henseller will officiate. Visitation will be Monday Sep. 9, 2013 from 5 to 8 p.m. with a Rosary said at 4:45 p.m. at Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel in Peoria. Additional visitation will be one half hour prior to the services at church on Tuesday. Burial will be in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in West Peoria.
