

George Junior Reeise, age 85, of Washington, formerly of Peoria, passed away early in the morning on Friday April 29, at OSF St. Francis Hospital in Peoria Ill. Succumbing to injuries sustained from an automobile accident.
Born, an only child, on November 28, 1930, in Peoria, to George W. and Irene (Chamberlain) Reeise. He married Eva Roderick on April 1, 1950 in East Peoria. Survivors include his loving wife of 67 years, one daughter, Diana (Rick) Dikeman of Fort Wayne, IN, one son, David (Marsha) Reeise of Metamora, six grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one son, Dale Reeise.
George spent the majority of his 85 years living around the Peoria area. He was a jack of all trades having work experiences ranging from a pinsetter at an Auto Parts Bowling Alley, to English tutor, to mechanic, and finally retiring from Caterpillar, as a machinist, after 40+ years of service. George was an industrious type staying busy with any number of hobbies. Be it a square dancing team, cabinet making, building homes, wood carving, or even the new fad electronic device, George was also on the go, and committed to challenging his mind. He was happiest when surrounded by family and friends. Ever the gifted story teller, George’s larger than life personality and laugh could fill the room. Making everyone around him feel at ease. He is sure to have had a lasting impact on all that knew him. George Junior Reeise will be loved, remembered, and missed by everyone that he has touched.
He was a United States Navy Veteran.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday May 3, 2016 at the Davison-Fulton-Woolsey-Wilton Funeral home at 2408 W. Willow Knolls Dr., Peoria. Visitation will be one hour prior to the services.
Burial will be in Swan Lake Memory Gardens in Peoria.
