It has been a few weeks now since Jerry went home to be with the Lord.  His presence is greatly missed.  He was seemingly everywhere and I miss seeing his smile, the presence of God he brought with him and his genuine love for people.  He impacted everyone who met him.  I can only imagine how greatly his family misses him when his church family aches for him to be with us.  I can only pray that we will learn to love like Jerry loved and live like Jerry lived. Mission trips to Peru will never be the same.  Adding an o to every word at the end just won't do it. Thank you Jesus for sharing him with us and for loving us through him like you did.

My first encounter with Jerry was his peaceful presense in my hospital room numerous times & I recall how wonderful it felt to have him praying over me amidst my severe pain. Jerry stayed a part of my life from there on and as I began my walk with the Lord. He prayed with me countless times and he was my biggest encouragement in pursuing my own ministry. He would call me every other week to remind me that he wanted to see me at his Bible studies and he taught me so much about Jesus through the way he lived and loved people. I will forever remember with great joy how God used Jerry in my life during the delicate process of bringing me out of my own personal darkness and into the Light of the Body of Christ. Jerry, I will continue to miss you incredibly and my sadness is only selfishness because I know where you are now. You are now seeing His Face and abiding in His Glory! You are Home at last and I just know that you had a spectacular welcome in Heaven when you arrived. You were righteous in God's eyes and you made Him a very proud Father with the way you lived your life. I can only imagine the kind of treasures that awaited you in Heaven! I look forward to seeing you again someday!
Phyllis, my heart goes out to you as you cope with this huge loss, but I know you still feel the comfort of knowing where your beautiful husband is now. I'm sure he made you so proud to be his wife! Thank you for sharing him with all of us as he touched all our lives with the love of Jesus. You are in my thoughts and prayers!

Mr. Colgan as I called him when I was his student at Manual High was a very kind and good hearted soul.  May God's arms wrap around you and comfort you in your loss.  God rest Mr. Colgan.

Jerry was my friend.  A few months ago in the mens meeting Jerry prayed for me like no other.  He poured into my life.  We laughed and loved together, we played golf last year for the first time together.  But I alway know that Jerry was truly a man of God.  You can't help but feel the presents of Jesus when he's around.  I will miss my friend, I have made arrangments to see him later.  Jesus is the only way.

From all of us in Liverpool,Illinois we offer condolences. gerald was a pastor at our church in Liverpool for some time and he was a truly great person. he did great things for our little church. He had a big heart and would do anything for anyone. I was just a child when he first came to liverpool, and he made sure all the kids in town knew that they could come to church. Jerry and Phyllis always took us kids from church to fun activities. we went to Hockey games, baseball games and the festival of lights every year. it was a great experience for all of us. we will truly miss him.he also preached at my grandmother's funeral and was there for me for that very hard time. there are so many things to say about him, i can't express my sadness enough.

Phyllis and family:  I cannot imagine what it is like for you.  The thing that has helped me so many times is to remember that your Father in Heaven definitely knows what it is like to loose one of value.  Jerry certainly falls into this category.  He was so many things to so many people.  I usually do not cry at time like this but Jerry's passing opened up a new area of compassion.  May I become more like Jerry and follow the example he set for all of us.

We will miss him so much, but I know he would want us all to continue his work.

Phyllis and family - It seems so feeble to say how sorry I am that you have had to endure this sorrow - and yet I seem to have no other words.  Jerry was a wonderful example of what a Christian should be - and I know that he is with Jesus right now.  Nevertheless he will be missed and mourned by those who love him and those who have come to call him brother. My prayers are with you all.

Jerry - You set an example for all of us...in how to live a life for Christ, in how to be a husband, in being a Dad and Grandfather, and in being a friend.  I feel so blessed to have been able to call you my friend, mentor, and fellow Brother in Christ.  I know that you are now in the great "Cloud of Witnesses" looking down at us and cheering us on in our race.  You will be greatly missed.

I was grateful to be able to see Jerry before he went home. Because of my work schedule it has been hard to get to church on a regular basis.  But, every time I would meet Jerry, he would be happy to see me and would have a kind word. I know my two daughters Hope and Abigail were shocked and expressed their sorrow. Nina received the phone call from Adam Randal and was very surprised. She expressed that "God takes the really good ones fast from this wicked world." We all have your family in high regard and will miss Jerry very much. We have you in our prayers and extend our condolences and will celebrate his life with all our fond memories we all share of him.

I am a physician assistant and have known Jerry for many, many years.  
Since 1978, Jerry called on me.  We always had a bond in Christ and almost every conversation, we discussed what God was doing in our lives.  I am thankful for having known him. I met Jerry at the beginning of my journey, when God took me out of darkness and into His light.  Jerry consistently encouraged me in my faith, and prophetically spoke words of destiny over my life.  There was a tenderness in his heart that reflected the glory of Jesus so clearly.  I am so thankful for the gem that He is, and I know that Jesus has exceeding great joy in Jerry.  Till we are reunited in glory...

The three qualities that radiate from Jerry in my experience of him are FAITH, COMPASSION and JOY. Underneath them all lay a sweetness that seemed to want to embrace the world. Now, courageous cousin, you do.

It was jst sunday that he led the mission's committee in deciding to help a nurse go to Hati and give her funding. It was just sunday that we sang when we all get to heaven and Jerry commented what a glorious day that will be, when we all see Jesus.

I was honored again to hear Jerry's tender heart in his prayer last Sunday @ 9am service, his love for Jesus was so obvious. You both were examples of God's design for a beautiful marriage. Phyllis you have been on my heart so much, I can imagine how bitter sweet this must be for you and the family. Phyllis and Family,  I was shocked and saddened to read of Jerry's passing.  I always enjoyed visiting with him during his days as a pharmaceutical representative--he was always very professional and informative and very easy to talk with. I was saddened to read about Jerry in the newspaper. I always remember him wearing a big smile when he came to visit his mother, Ollidean. He would take her to the golf course and take her around the golf course in a golf cart and she would be so happy. They shared the love of golfing and she delighted in her visits with him.
