Gloria Marilyn Schafer

She was born May 6, 1927 in Roann, IN, the daughter of Forrest and Violet Young Shaw. She married Gene C Schafer on February 11, 1946. He preceded her in death on October 15, 1988.

Gloria is survived by two sons, Dennis (Linda) Schafer of Texarkana, TX, and Paul (Shirley) Schafer of The Villages, FL; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; one brother, Perry (Mary) Shaw of Westville, IL; one sister, Maybelle Hand of Bloomington, IL.

She is also preceded in death by her parents and two brothers.

Gloria worked as an Associate Registrar for Bradley University for 30 years, retiring May 31, 1989. She was a member of American Association and Illinois Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admission Officers.

She is a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church in Peoria.

Funeral Services will be 9:00 am , Wednesday, March 9, 2016 at Redeemer Lutheran Church. Visitation will be Tuesday, March 8, 2016 at Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel from 4-6:00 pm, and one half hour prior to services at the church. Pastor Ted Benson will officiate.

Burial will be in Lutheran Cemetery.
