Harry Joseph Irwin

Harry Joseph Irwin, 97, of Peoria, Illinois, passed away on December 4, 2015 at the Bickford Cottages in Peoria. He was born on September 7, 1918 in Peoria, Illinois to Fred and Lucille (Dwyer) Irwin. He married Vivian E. Poplette on February 6, 1946 and she preceded him in death in 2008 in Peoria, Illinois. He is also preceded in death by one brother, Larry Irwin.

He is survived by two sons, Dennis J. (Nancy) Irwin of Peoria, Barry J. (Carol) Irwin of Bartonville. Grandchildren include Lori (Jason) Vietti of Chillicothe, Jamie (Trevor) Holmes of Peoria, Barry Jr (Ursla) Irwin, Mark (Sandra) Irwin, Mike Irwin and Natalie Mason and nine great grandchildren.

Harry worked for the Journal Star, Caterpillar Inc., Shotthofer Motor Service and last working at MH Equipment Company. He was a member of the Kickapoo Archery Club. Harry enjoyed golf, big band music, socializing with close friends and babysitting his granddaughers in retirement years.

Graveside services will be held at 10:30 AM Wednesday, December 9, 2015 at the Swan Lake Memory Gardens. The Rev. Bill Cordes will officiate. There will be no visitation.
