Helen M. Seitz

She was born in Peoria, Illinois on May 4, 1936 to Wilfred G. and Helen M. (Koestner) Horton. She married Joseph K. Seitz on April 25, 1953.

She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, two brothers, Wilfred J. and John E. Horton, three sisters, Eleanore A. Horton, Lorraine H. Harvey, and Emily M. Fornoff.

Surviving are her four children, Bobbyjack (Teresa) Seitz, Cynthia J. Seitz, Wilfred J. Seitz and Lorraine C. (Richard) Walden; one brother, David A. Horton; one sister, Patricia A. (Rudy) Riggs; three granddaughters, Monique R. Gerard, Amanda J. Toombs, and Kerry L. Walden; eight great-grandchildren, Adrianna K. Gerard, Nadia E. Gerard, Joseph K. Walden, Kayleigh J. Toombs, Dominique W. Hollingsworth, Devin K. Hollingsworth, Keenan R. Hollingsworth and Malia R. Hollingsworth,

Helen liked to bake and decorate cakes, painting, camping and traveling. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Helen was a den mother for several years with the West Peoria Cub Scouts. She helped to organize the first West Peoria 4th of July Parade as a lesson in citizenship. Helen worked at Carson's and the St. Joseph Home in West Peoria until she retired. She was baptized at West Bluff Christian Church along with her four children.

A visitation will be on Tuesday, May 29, 2018 from 6 to 8 pm at Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel. A funeral service will be Wednesday, May 30, 2018 at 10:00 am at the funeral home. Rev. Jim Reynolds will officiate. Burial will follow the service at Springdale Cemetery.
