

He was born May 3, 1932 in Scott County, Mississippi to Noah L. and Nannie (Robinson) Boykin. He married Beth Baker October 26, 1963 in Peoria. She survives along with three daughters: Marguerite Boykin of Fort Wayne, IN, Stephanie Holford of Peoria, Gina Boykin of Peoria; one son: Jason D. Boykin of Peoria; ten grandchildren; twenty-one great-grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one son: Rex Boykin; and one brother: Henry Boykin.
Jim was a commercial truck driver for 24 years in the Peoria area, retiring in 1987 from Browning-Ferris.
He was a member of TNBA, the USBC, and bowled on several bowling leagues out of Landmark Lanes. His favorite pastime was bowling, fishing, and playing dominoes. He loved spending time outdoors barbequing with his family.
He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather.
Funeral services will be Friday September 10, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. at Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel in Peoria. Rev. Darren Anderson will officiate. Visitation will be two hours prior to the services on Friday at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Lutheran Cemetery in Peoria.
